Tuna Tartare Cups

Everyone once in a while I like to splurge and buy some sushi grade tuna and serve it to guests.  I love that this appetizer is bite-sized and easy to share with crowds.

(I even used the leftover tuna over lettuce with ginger dressing and cucumbers for lunch the next day!)

Ingredients:

1 package wonton wrappers
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
1 pound sushi-grade tuna
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoons rice vinegar
½ tablespoon sesame oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (I used both colors)
1 tablespoons lime juice

Directions for Wonton Cups – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Spray a mini muffin pan with cooking spray.

Insert a wonton wrapper into each mini muffin cup.

Brush or spray each wonton wrapper lightly with oil.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown and then let cool completely.
While the wontons are baking prepare tuna. (Allow wontons to cool complete before filling.)

Directions for Tuna – With a very sharp knife, cut the tuna into 1/8-inch diced pieces.

In a separate bowl, combine sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and lime juice.

Combine the sauce and the tuna. Salt to taste.

Spoon into wonton cups and top with sesame seeds.
