Pepperoni Pizza Cheese Ball (Football Shaped)

GOOOO Sports Team! (Actually, I am a big Redskins and Panthers fan, but love this line from Lego Movie too.) Anyway, 🙂

This pepperoni football cheese ball is the perfect combo of saltiness and festiveness for your tailgate…

And if you are a college football fan, (Go Clemson Tigers), then make two and have one each day!

Ingredients:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni (or mini-pepperonis)
3 tablespoons marinara sauce
1/4 cup crumbled bacon (optional)
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cheese stick, sliced as needed

Directions
In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup pepperoni, Italian seasoning, and marinara sauce until combined. Then form into a ball.

Then place the ball on a large piece of plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to start for the shape to form up.

Once slightly cooled (but can be done earlier if on a time crunch), arrange pepperonis and mozzarella cheese around the outside.

Rewrap the decorated pepperoni football cheese ball in plastic wrap, tightly. Chill overnight, but at least 2 hours.
