Creamed Spinach (Ruth’s Chris Recipe) 

 

 

This recipe was super simple, and super classic. My mom even requested at the very next family gathering!  (You’ll need to adjust liquids as needed based on the thickness of the recipe.) 

Ingredients (for 4 servings):
1 10-oz package of frozen chopped spinach
2 tbsp butter
1 1/2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash of: Pepper, Nutmeg, and Cayenne Pepper

Directions:
Cook the spinach according to the package. Squeeze out all of the liquid from the spinach.

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. 

Add the flour to the melted butter and stir until smooth.

Add the cream and heat for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens, stirring constantly.

Add spinach, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cayenne.  Cook for 2-4 minutes, stirring.  Serve Hot.
