Fahrenheit (Fall 2018 menu)

IMG_2979Fahrenheit, located with an amazing view of Uptown Charlotte has become a restaurant for showing off my favorite city. With a sunset view of the skyline, it also is perfect for special events.  Both owner Rocco Whalen (IG @rock1chef) , and Executive chef and DOP Chef Dave Feimster (IG @djfeimster) are two chefs that are well integrated into the charitable restaurant scene, so I have met with them many times.  I really enjoyed trying out the new fall menu!

(note: Although this menu was provided at no cost to me, all of the opinions are my own.)

I’m starting the description of their fall menu with a dish that I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this was the BEST chicken breast I have ever had, anywhere! It was perfectly cooked, and served over a goat cheese macaroni and cheese (with just a touch of rosemary!)

For the appetizers (or small plates) the menu has a few oldies and a few new awesome ones.  The table’s favorite dish was the Ahi Poke Nachos with fried wontons and chili aioli. My personal favorite was the PEI Red Curry Mussels with coconut milk broth and sweet potatoes.

Other awesome dishes included the Springer Mountain Farms Chicken Steam Buns, Main Lobster & Crab Salad (in an avocado), Roasted Acorn Squash salad with burrata, and Kung Pao Cauliflower.

For the signature entrees, we tried three other dishes (in addition to the chicken)!  Main Diver Sea Scallops (with butternut squash puree), Cold Water Lobster Pot Pie (I could seriously have drank this sauce!!), and Grilled Pork Chop with coconut milk risotto.

Cream Dessert

We also had a bonus dessert from our their awesome pastry chef, Anika Rucker (@neeka_girl): a play on PB & J with a cinnamon toast crunch crouton and chantilly cream. 🙂

I highly recommend heading uptown and having a fall dinner with a view!
