Jalapeno Popper Mummies (for Halloween)

Happy Halloween, everyone!  This is such a fun and festive time of the year to celebrate.  The appetizers can be super spooky or super cute. I loved this recipe cause first, who doesn’t love jalapeno poppers?  Second, they are just so stinking adorable. All of your guests are going to devour these jalapeno popper mummies!

Ingredients

  • 10 Jalapeño Peppers
  • IMG_34838 oz Softened Cream Cheese
  • 8 oz Pepper Jack Cheese, shredded (may want to use cheddar or combination if less spicy is preferred.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 4-6 pieces of cooked bacon, chopped
  • Candy Eyeballs
  • 1 package Crescent Rolls

Directions:

Preheat your over to 400° in line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Slice jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and scoop out the inside, including seeds and white part. IMG_3485

In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic, and bacon.IMG_3487

Fill your jalapeño peppers with your cheese mixture.

Unroll the crescent roll and allow to sit at room temperature until more pliable.  Using a rolling pin, make the dough into one large rectangle. Cut into 20 slices. IMG_3493

Wrap one piece of dough around each pepper, leaving a small opening for the eyes.IMG_3494

Bake for about 10-14 minutes, until golden brown. IMG_3522

Allow to cool slightly, then add the candy eyes.

Serve warm!
