Burrata with Apple Mustard Relish

Scroll down to content

This recipe came from Game of Thrones inspiration as we wanted to make a fun “Eunuch” dish, I decide to make two Burrata Ball recipes. This was one of them!

We really liked this recipe because it packet a little punch, but it also had some natural sweetness from the apple. The mustard is more of my favorite flavor, but if you prefer more of a vinegar, adjust your mustard measurements.

It’s a great recipe to make ahead and set out when guests arrive. (especially when they come over to watch Game of Thrones!)

For those of you who don’t know about burrata, it is a fresh Italian cow milk cheese made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is mozzarela, but inside is cream, giving it a soft texture. Difference-between-mozzarella-and-burrata

Ingredients:

1/2 granny smith apple, brunoise (or chopped in small pieces)
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp whole grain mustard
1 pinch cayenne pepper, or more to taste
1 burrata ball (We love @UAV from https://www.pastaprovisions.com/_)
Toasted or grilled bread for serving

Directions:

In a small sauce pan, add apples. Cook for just 2 minutes until apples just barely begin to brown. (You don’t want to overcook them so they lose that crunch/bite.)

Add honey, vinegar, mustard & cayenne. Stir and warm through about 2 minutes. Adjust seasonings as needed. (If too potent, add some water, but don’t take the excess liquid to the serving platter.)

Top burrata ball with apple mixture. Serve at room temperature.
