Whenever I visit my nephews, it’s standard procedure to spend a lot of kitchen time together. Hunter prepared a list of recipes he wanted us to make together this time. It was also fun because we had been talking about seeing Star Wars (and the cinnamon rolls are just like Princess Leia’s buns.) We also had my 5 year old bonus child helping us too, so it’s super kid friendly to help with.
It’s super easy and can make it in a quick minute (if you keep the pizza dough available.) Great family time to make a delicious breakfast together.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp butter, melted
1 tbsp flour for dusting the work surface
1 package refrigerated pizza dough
2 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp milk
1/3 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat oven toe 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Lightly flour the work surface, or use parchment paper. Unroll the pizza dough. (I purchased a thin crust pizza dough, but roll it out if still thick.)
Using a pastry brush, bust the melted butter over the surface of the dough.
In a small bowl, stir sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the dough.

Starting on the long side, roll the dough into a log. Pinch edges to seal together.
Using a knife, cut into 1 inch slices/discs. Put the slices on the baking sheet. Bake for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Allow to cool 5 minutes, then cool 5 more on a cooling rack.

While cooling, stir milk, powdered sugar and vanilla together in a small bowl. Use a spoon to frost the cinnamon rolls. Serve warm!
